This comic strip below was made for an ex Vietnam TV reporter turned
big shot vice president of a huge TV production company in the Netherlands
for his 60th birthday. He was the first reporter in Holland to use an
earmicrophone connected with the home front (wow!).
His bosses, who ordered the drawing and always in the picture anyway,
naturally wanted to appear in this one as well...

his personality:
* extreme workaholic
* heavy smoker
* travels between ranch in Holland and office in Germany in chauffeur
driven car
* has weird eating habits; sometimes eats space food in order to diet
* loves laptop computers and mobile phones
* he owns horses
* his wife breeds dogs
* likes to send messages to his bosses dated 3AM to show he is working
extra hard.

distorted facts;
While typing a note, dated 2.30 AM to let his bosses know he is still
working,
he is telling one of them, waiting alongside the road with yet another
laptop,
that he has absolutely no time for his own birthday.
While his wife tells him in his earphone not to forget
to feed the dogs, his other wealthy boss tries to hand him a NASA liquid
low calorie birthdaycake but unfortunately forgot the candles...etc,
etc.

2: -Briefing from actual client in Florida with the result below.... "I want to have a caricature done of a very close friend and partner. It will involve several elements, sailboat, banana, fish with swollen lips, a shrimp with a "no cheese" sign, and an Italian flag. It all started with him scolding me about bringing a banana on the boat, and how you won't catch fish, and general bad luck. It appears that bananas secrete a substance that makes the fish's lips very sensitive, much like the full moon, so they will not bite, or will spit it out, thus the fish with the swollen lips. Also he related a story of a group of fishermen who loaded their boat down with bunches of bananas which happen to be a common hiding place for Black Widow spiders. Needless to say not all of the fishermen returned alive. So, a black widow on the sail might be nice. The shrimp with the "no Cheese" sign comes from his refusal to even consider putting any kind of cheese on any kind of seafood. He is very traditional Italian, thus the cheese thing and the Italian flag. He and I are partners on a 40' sailing sloop, so fishing off the boat could be another element.. He is known as Captain Calamari, Lord Captain Admiral of all the Seas and Oceans in the Great Cosmos. I have attached several pictures of Mike. Let's get started." |
